From Cincinnati to New York

01 — Early Beginnings

Kenny began classical piano training at the Baldwin Music Company at age seven. By 13, he was already playing piano for his church and developing a lifelong connection between music and community.

02 — Musical Education

His passion led him to the Cincinnati School for the Creative and Performing Arts and later the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), where he studied Music Education and Jazz Voice.

03 — Beyond Cincinnati

From those early days at the piano, Kenny’s career expanded to theater, cabaret, television, gospel, and international stages, sharing his artistry with audiences around the world.

A Legacy in Gospel Music

In 1983, Kenny founded Kenny Allan Smith’s Peace & Serenity, a gospel choir ministry that has grown to include branches in Cincinnati and New York City. Under his leadership, the ensemble has received Charles Fold Excellence Awards and Bronze Medal honors at the World Choir Games.

As a choir director and Minister of Music, Kenny has shared his gifts with numerous churches and ensembles, including The Harlem Choir, Lavender Light Gospel Choir, and Marble Collegiate Gospel Choir, bringing voices together through faith and music.
